We’ve been thinking a lot about curb appeal lately, especially as we see so many homes that would be dramatically improved with the right exterior paint colors. If you are planning on selling your home anytime soon, it’s one of the best investments you can make. Choosing a new house color and a trim color with the right level of contrast can be tricky though.
Our recommendation? Read this spot on article from Zillow. And then spend some time cruising neighborhoods for homes that instantly grab your attention (in a good way). Note the house color choices. Also note which details the home owner decided to punctuate with a contrasting color. Did they go for a big contrast (white on coffee) or something more subtle (white on cream).
Also note your immediate emotional response to the house color. That emotional response is what gets potential buyers through the front door. And the more buyers who make it into your home, the better your chances for a quick and profitable sale.
